Musical Choices

The Musical Choices Group meets every 4th Thursday in the month, from 2.00 p.m. - 4.00 p.m. at one of the member's homes. That member compiles a programme of music of their choice either on You Tube, C.D.'s, Live music sometimes (we have various members who play an instrument) , or a programme about a particular composer, to last for an hour.  That gives time for a break half way for refreshments for about 15 minutes and also time for a short discussion about the piece or to give any information of interest. The music may not always be to your choice but we always respect that it is the choice of that member. We discuss with members when they want to present their programme and we keep a calendar. We always have a lot of fun and banter but it is  amazing how much knowledge comes from the group. We welcome any new members who enjoy a wide choice of music. 

 

We had a very different meeting in January when Rita explained how to assemble her clarinet and what was the function of each section. She then played some pieces that she enjoyed and then entertained us with an amusing poem she had written about her experiences with a group she played with. We also had an introduction to Ukrainian music by our new member. A very enjoyable afternoon.
