Researching family history can be both an absorbing and frustrating pastime and all researchers have problems that can often be shared and sometimes solved with the aid of others. Our group is composed of members with all levels of experience and expertise and the informality of our monthly meetings provides a relaxed atmosphere where ideas are exchanged and assistance given to everyone attending. Occasional guest speakers help to increase our knowledge and regular visits to research establishments assist our endeavours.

Programme July 2018 - March 2019
Meetings are held every second Thursday of the month 2 - 4pm, usually in a member's home.
13 February - DNA Update at Ted's
12th March - Workhouses at Tony's
9th April - No Meeting, Maunday Thursday
14th May - Online Geneoaology Courses at Linda's
11th June - Immigration/Emigration Records at Tim's
As usual, meeting subjects (and venues) are subject to change!
Our agendas are very "loose and far ranging" but I think that these topics will give everyone a focal point.
Help with Tracing Your Ancestors
The Family History Group would like to offer help to anyone who wants to make a start on tracing, or discovering further information about, their ancestors. We would use various resources available to us through our subscriptions to online family history sites. To start with we would try to work backwards along a single line (Surname).
