Outings
Outings are offered to members from their own suggestions or places of interest the organisers think will be successful. Members sign up at the monthly meeting for a trip in which they want to participate, when a deposit is requested to secure the booking.
The member then becomes responsible for the ticket and the balance to be paid within a time limit. Buses are booked for the group and we collect from two meeting points in the town. The organisers make sure members make known where they want to be picked up and the time.
We try to cater for a wide spread of interest and are mindful of any needs for any disabilities. Recent trips have included a 4 day/3 night trip to London, Ampleforth Abbey cider, brandy and liqueur tasting, Alan Ayckbourne plays at Scarborough, Merry Wives at Hull, Last night of the Proms at Scarborough, Coastal Classics Concert and afternoon tea at Bridlington and Die Fledermaus Operetta at Hull.
Trips are open to every member of our U3A and have been a good source of making social contacts especially when new to the area.
