Outings

Outings are offered to members from their own suggestions or places of interest the organisers think will be successful. Members sign up at the monthly meeting for a trip in which they want to participate, when a deposit is requested to secure the booking.

The member then becomes responsible for the ticket and the balance to be paid within a time limit. Buses are booked for the group and we collect from two meeting points in the town.  The organisers make sure members make known where they want to be picked up and the time.

We try to cater for a wide spread of interest and are mindful of any needs for any disabilities. Recent trips have included days at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, International Bomber Command and York Christmas Market.  We also held two 2 hour walking tours - one of Beverley and one of Hull Old Town.  Both were accompanied by a tour guide and local historian who brought the sights and sites to life.

Trips are open to every member of our U3A and have been a good source of making social contacts especially when new to the area.
